Former amateur standout Maiseyrose Courtney signed a multi-fight promotional deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing in January 2023.

Originally down as the float on the undercard of Katie Taylor-Karen Elizabeth Carabajal in October 2022, the 23-year-old ended up making her professional debut as the chief support to her idol.

Maiseyrose, who is the first female boxer to train out of the Matchroom Boxing Elite Gym, comfortably outpointed Hungary’s Judit Hackbold over four rounds at the OVO Arena in Wembley.

The South Londoner started boxing at eight and went on to represent the famous Repton Boxing Club, winning six National Titles and fighting her way into the Team England set-up. Trained by Tony Sims and Kevin Mitchell, Courtney joins a thriving Matchroom stable boasting some the very best female fighters on the planet.

Maiseyrose scored a points win over Buchra El Quaissi in March 2023 before moving to 3-0 a few months later with a victory over Kate Radomska on the undercard of Katie Taylor-Chantelle Cameron in Dublin, Ireland.

Maiseyrose landed another slot on a monster card, opening the show for Joshua-Helenius in August with a points win over Gemma Ruegg and was back out a month later on the undercard of Opetaia-Thompson with a career-best performance over former European champion Martina Bernile.

After seven months on the sidelines due to injury, Maiseyrose returned on the undercard of Peter McGrail-Marc Leach in Liverpool in April 2024 and secured a close points win over the experienced Giuseppina Di Stefano.

Maisey failed to lure Chloe Watson in for the European Flyweight Title and instead faced Jasmina Zapotoczna for the WBA International 112lb Title on the undercard of Fisher-Babic in July. However, the former Repton amateur slipped to her first defeat as a pro.

MRC bounced back in December to close out 2024 with a victory before following that up with another win the following month to get back on path towards title contention.
